With your help, PHA Canada provides a better life for all Canadians affected by pulmonary hypertension. We understand that living with PH can be isolating, heartbreaking, challenging, expensive, inspiring, and even hopeful. Our goal is to support all those affected by pulmonary hypertension – patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers – so their lives can be lived to the fullest.
PHA Canada is a federally registered charity. Our charitable number is #872050224RR0001. Tax receipts are issued for donations of $20.00 or more.
PHA Canada empowers the pulmonary hypertension community through a range of programs and initiatives:
Support: patient & family resources, including for families of children with pulmonary hypertension
Education: annual events & a dynamic online presence all year long
Advocacy: advocating on behalf of the pulmonary hypertension community with all levels of government
Awareness: raising the profile of pulmonary hypertension, especially among healthcare providers
Research: scholarships for pulmonary hypertension research trainees & information for patients
The above areas are where we have found that Canadians living with pulmonary hypertension can receive the most benefit from our support. When you host a fundraiser for PHA Canada or make a donation, your gift makes these services possible.
Designated Funding for Research
We understand that everyone impacted by pulmonary hypertension wants to contribute to research that aims to find a cure for PH. This will always be a cause that is close to the hearts of our community members, which is why PHA Canada is committed to promoting and contributing funds towards pulmonary hypertension research in Canada.
If you are fundraising for PHA Canada, you have the option of designating a portion of those funds towards Canadian pulmonary hypertension research efforts. This could even include creating a named research scholarship in honour of someone you love.

Designated Funding for Patient Scholarships
Fundraisers and donors may dedicate any portion of their donation or raised funds to PHA Canada's Patient Scholarship Fund. To make life easier for patients and caregivers, this fund helps subsidize the cost of attendance at pulmonary hypertension educational events.
We know that pulmonary hypertension can be an expensive disease. The Patient Scholarship Fund provides community members with financial assistance to participate in educational events related to PH. Pulmonary hypertension is a relatively rare disease, so newly diagnosed PH patients and caregivers usually don't know a single other person who faces the same challenges they do. The scholarship fund allows patients and caregivers to come together to learn from one another and forge lasting bonds of support.
Any gifts not designated to the patient scholarship fund will be used to support all our programs and services.
