Marion Roth
BOARD DIRECTOR
Marion was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (iPAH) in January 2011. Prior to diagnosis, she had been fairly active within her community but found herself reducing her volunteer commitments due to a lack of energy, fatigue, and shortness of breath. Her family doctor ran an EKG in his office and noticed something was off; he didn’t know to what extent, but he sent her to see an internist who in turn referred her to the London PH Clinic. By March 2011, she started on her first (of many) PH medications. Today, Marion is on triple therapy, including IV treprostinil (Remodulin®).
Marion is a founding member of the London PH Support Group, which started in 2012. She is a strong promoter of PH awareness while still in pursuit of the things she loves most: dog obedience training and travelling with her family, building memories. Marion is passionate about educating others so they, too, may continue to do the things they love. Even during some of her scariest moments, she used the opportunity to inform and educate hospital staff about PH and how her medication pump functions.
Prior to her diagnosis, Marion was a large-volume cook and an Air Cadet Officer. She resides in Milverton, Ontario, with her husband, Bob. She has three adult children—Whitney, Courtney, and son-in-law Eric—a fur-baby Golden Retriever Ryleigh, and a grand fur-baby Nyomi the boxer.
