Pat Kelly

PROJECT MANAGER, RESEARCH CAPACITY BUILDING

Pat Kelly has joined Pulmonary Hypertension Canada in the new role of Manager, Research Capacity Building Project.

She has been one of Canada’s leading advocates for people with cancer and for advancing person-centred healthcare reform. As well as developing provincial and national networks of self-help groups, Pat wrote and published four editions of the book, “What You Need to Know About Breast Cancer” along with manuals for policy advocates and self-help group facilitators.

Pat has provided training workshops and presented at conferences in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. Pat earned an MA in Adult Leadership and Learning from Royal Roads University for her paper on the “Impacts of Pharmaceutical Funding on Non-profits in Canada”. She received the Governor General of Canada’s Award for her efforts on behalf of people with cancer.

Currently, she is a member of the Integrated People-Centred Health and Social Services technical review committee at the Health Standards Organization (HSO).

Outside the office, Pat is a love-struck grandmother, veteran social justice advocate, e-biker, and Van Morrison fan, in that order.
