With your help, PHA Canada provides a better life for all Canadians affected by pulmonary hypertension. We understand that living with PH can be isolating, heartbreaking, challenging, expensive, inspiring, and even hopeful. Our goal is to support all those affected by PH – patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers – so their lives can be lived to the fullest.

PHA Canada empowers the PH community through a range of programs and initiatives:

  • Support: patient & family resources, including for families of children with PH
  • Education: annual events & a dynamic online presence all year long
  • Advocacy: advocating on behalf of the PH community with all levels of government
  • Awareness: raising the profile of PH, especially among healthcare providers
  • Research: scholarships for PH research trainees & information for patients

The above areas are where we have found that Canadians living with PH can receive the most benefit from our support. When you host a fundraiser for PHA Canada or make a donation, your gift makes these services possible. 

Designated Funding for Research

 

PHA Canada is committed to contributing funds towards pulmonary hypertension research. We understand that everyone impacted by PH wants to contribute to research that aims to find a cure for PH. This will always be a cause that is close to the hearts of our community members, which is why PHA Canada is committed to promoting PH research in Canada. If you are fundraising for PHA Canada, you have the option of designating a portion of those funds towards Canadian PH research efforts. This could even include creating a named research scholarship in honour of someone you love. To learn more about raising funds for research with PHA Canada, please read our Donor Directed Giving Policy and contact us at 1-877-774-2226. 

Designated Funding for Patient Scholarships

 

Donations may also be designated towards PHA Canada's Patient Scholarship Fund. This fund helps subsidize the cost of attendance at PH educational events for patients and their caregivers. 

We know that PH can be an expensive disease. That's why PHA Canada offers a Patient Scholarship Fund to make life easier for patients and caregivers. The Patient Scholarship Fund provides community members with financial assistance to participate in educational events related to PH. PH is a relatively rare disease, so newly diagnosed PH patients and caregivers usually don't know a single other person who faces the same challenges they do. The scholarship fund allows patients and caregivers to come together to learn from one another and forge lasting bonds of support. Fundraisers and donors may dedicate any portion of their donation or raised funds to PHA Canada's Patient Scholarship Fund. Any gifts not designated to the patient scholarship fund will be used to support all our programs and services.
